RECYCLE REUSE REPURPOSE
May3rd - June 19th
ART06870 Gallery is pleased to present the opening reception of RECYCLE REUSE REPURPOSE Saturday, May 3rd | 6–8 PM 260R Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich, CT 06870 (Located behind the Chase Bank).
Focusing on artists using recycle and repurpose mediums, the exhibition was carefully timed in collaboration with Earth Day celebrations at Old Greenwich School and the annual beach cleanup organized by the Live Like Luke Foundation. In partnership with the Developing Artist Program and the Greenwich Alliance for Education, ART06870 also hosted a creative workshop encouraging students to engage with environmental themes through art.
The use of nontraditional materials—such as plastics, discarded newspapers, packaging, and everyday found objects—has emerged as a powerful way to reflect the complexities of modern life. These materials, often overlooked or considered waste, are recontextualized by artists to challenge traditional ideas of value, beauty, and permanence. We are thrilled to present the work of such incredibly accomplished artists in an exhibition that is sure to captivate, inspire, and spark meaningful dialogue.
The exhibition is a celebration of the artists and the collaborative efforts with the gallery and community. Students, families and neighbors working to clean up Greenwich/Tod’s point, are invited to use material collected in a collaborative community art installation during the opening reception.
